The object of the thematic working groups is to analyze and synthezise complex research questions that are crucial to the activities of Future Forests.In the thematic working groups scientists from Future Forests co-operate with other world leading scientists and with practioners from differents parts of society. In most cases the groups constist of 5 to 15 people.
The thematic working groups have a time limitation of two years. The Future Forests Board starts around 2 to 5 new thematic working groups each year.
