Sammanfattning
This is an outline for a book aimed to give a significant contribution to the understanding of the conditions for future forest use. It is based on the recognition that the “forest sector" must be disembedded and approached as an open system in interplay with other systems such as climate change/politics, the energy transition, new multilevel governance patterns, demographic change and land use competition. The proposed book shall explore international trends that are critical to the future of the Nordic forest sector. Implications for future forest use will be explored in a case study focusing on the Swedish situation. The primary target group is academics with an interest in forest/resource management issues. Popularised versions will communicate main findings to stakeholders, policy makers and the general public.
